Well, basically, you just need to ask us to, after you've registered. We'll do a quick verification that your store is a store, and add you to our list of indy friendly stores, from there. So, just send us an e-mail at Retail@dimestoreproductions.com and we'll take it from there!
Not Yet! We will be working towards doing a physical catalog of what's available, probably on a quarterly basis. We are looking to fill the retailer's NEEDS, so if you are one, please send us an e-mail telling us if a Catalog would be helpful, or if there are other ways to help translate your customer's interests in indy stuff you can't get anywhere else into sales for your store. We are experimenting with them. A limited number of publishers and affiliated studios are currently allowed to run pre-orders through Dimestore, as we test and make sure we can "do it right". Our goal is to be able to offer publishers a way to schedule their releases and be able to pay for their printing and shipping ahead of time, and have delivery of copies hit stores in a timely way. We intend to make sure that we don't have books solicited that don't end up printing on time, or at all, so that we do not have to deal with the time waste and effort waste of refunds and other measures to keep retailers customers happy and coming back. The first reason would be: If they are ordering here direct, it's probably because your store doesn't carry the things we do. So what we need to do is educate those people. And send them to you. That's the second reason: Because we are going to be working extremely hard to SEND STORES customers and orders. Basically, we'd send you the customer to pick up the books we send you, and you'd keep the profit from it. The whole Store Pickup system is a street-team level project for the Self Publisher Association Local Chapters system, currently under development. If any of this sound interesting to you in any way, write to us and we'll make sure you know all the ins and outs of it. Our goal is to make it very easy, and preferable, for people to pick up their orders at stores we list as indy friendly pick-up spots, than to have them delivered to their houses. Some people still will, but those are the people that wouldn't have come to your store anyway.
